I am Lena Skov, the owner and operator of Understanding Our Dogs LLC.

Finding a reputable and professionally educated dog trainer with years of experience is not easy. You, as a dog owner, are probably as picky in your selection of a dog trainer as as you would be of a family physician or a babysitter. I have been working with dogs since 1998. My Great Danes competed in AKC Obedience, Rally, Conformation and are now entering IPO (Schutzhund) field.I am a graduate of the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behavior (KPA), which is built on decades of scientific research and practical development by behavior analysts, ethnologists and event-marker trainers around the world.

I offer in-home Dog Training and Behavior Modification as well as Board & Train to residents of:

Belmont, Bessemer City, Charlotte, Concord, Cornelius, Cramerton, Dallas, Davidson, Denver, Gastonia, Huntersville, Kings Mountain, Lincolnton, Matthews, Mooresville, Mt. Holly, Pineville, Stanley, as well as Rock Hill SC

I also realize that your days are full of work-related deadlines, chores and very little time for anything else. I will work with you to design a training program that fits your lifestyle. My services include a wide variety of custom-tailored programs: from puppy kindergarten all the way to teaching advanced skills. I am experienced in helping dogs that suffer from undesired behaviors, such as separation anxiety, fear, guarding, aggression, reactivity, just to name a few.

Board & Train has also been a very popular service. I only take two clients at a time who stay in a guest bedroom of my home. This way I can ensure personal attention and quality of training.
